I specialize in treating anxiety disorders using evidence based treatment approaches. I treat a range of anxiety and co-occurring disorders (depression and trauma), with a special interest in obsessive- compulsive disorder, phobias and social anxiety. I look forward to working with you and helping you meet your treatment goals.

APPROACH TO THERAPY

I take a team approach while working with clients. I strive to educate clients on factors contributing to and maintaining their symptoms, while working collaboratively to make changes in thoughts and behaviors. I utilize evidence based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Texas (38007) and Illinois (071008336) and have an active Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology, allowing me to see clients virtually in all PSYPACT approved states. I attended Northern Illinois University, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and graduated with special honors from the Psychology Department. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I trained with Dr. Arthur Freeman, a recognized expert in the field and am a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute. I have also received specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention, Behavior Modification, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I have experience applying empirically supported treatment approaches in my work with individuals, families and couples across a wide range of presenting issues. I have worked with clients across the age span in multiple settings including academic, inpatient psychiatric, community mental health, home-based, and outpatient group practices. I specifically enjoy working with adult populations. I completed an APA accredited doctoral internship at a community mental health center servicing several cities in Northwest Indiana. I relocated to Austin from one of my favorite cities, Chicago, where I was on staff at a group practice serving as the OCD and anxiety specialist.

PERSONAL INTERESTS

I enjoy traveling, reading, and socializing around music, food, and sports (GO BEARS!).
